Second Meeting of States Parties to the 1970 Convention

On 20-21 June 2012, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris will take place the Second Meeting of States Parties to the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property.

 

During the meeting will be discussed the impact of measures put in practice by the State Parties in order to optimize the implementation of the Convention at both national and regional levels, in the context of present tendencies of illegal trafficking of cultural property. Representatives of the States Parties will also analyze the impact of measures taken to conceptualize possible effective procedures aimed at guaranteeing the continuity of the implementation process of the Convention.

 

During the meeting Lithuania will be represented by Mindaugas Zolynas, Senior Specialist of the Division of Protected Areas and Heritage Safeguarding, Department of Cultural Policy, Ministry of Culture.
