Lithuanian artist performs at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris

On 10 October, a tribute celebration to French-Armenian singer, author, actor and public figure Charles Aznavour was held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

The concert was devoted to the work of Ch. Aznavour, who had served as Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Armenia to UNESCO since 1995 till his death in 2018. Viktorija Gečytė, a Lithuanian jazz singer currently living in Paris, was warmly received by the audience of more than 1300 people. Artists from Armenia, Cameroon, Croatia, Mauritania, Georgia, France, Lebanon, the Republic of Moldova andTunisia gave their performances as well.

Guests at the event were welcomed by Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, and Nicolas Aznavour,  son of the artist, accompanied by his spouse.

The evening was organised by the Francophonic group of UNESCO.  The Permanent Delegation of Lithuania to UNESCO contributed to the organisation of the event.
