On 6-7 June 2024, the tenth Vilnius Russia Forum brought together more than 100 representatives of the Russian opposition, Western politicians and experts, who discussed options to stop Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and the ongoing malign hybrid attacks against liberal democratic societies that threaten European security, democracy and the rules-based international order.

In Brussels, the head of Lithuania's diplomacy conferred the Foreign Ministry’s award of honour – Lithuania’s Diplomacy Star – on Stefano Tomat, Managing Director for Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability at the EU’s External Action Service (EEAS), and Mario Massimo Santoro, Head of the Secretary-General’s Office at the European External Action Service (EEAS).

On 15 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, and the Ministers of the Baltic states and Iceland are visiting Georgia, where he met with the Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili. The Foreign Minister said at the meeting that the “foreign influence” law, passed against the will of Georgia’s civil society and despite clear calls from the international community, was not compatible with the aspirations of the country’s government for integration into the European Union and NATO and would ave serious long-term consequences for the country’s geopolitical direction.

On 14 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, met with the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Markéta Pekarová Adamová. The meeting focused on the Lithuanian-Czech bilateral cooperation, topical items on the international agenda, and the assistance of European states to help achieve Ukraine’s victory in the war. The Foreign Minister thanked the Czech Republic for showing leadership in supporting Ukraine and recalled that the Czech Republic was among the first to provide tanks to Ukraine at the beginning of the war.
