Foreign Trade

In 2021, Lithuanian exports accounted for EUR 34.6 billion and, as compared to 2020, increased by 20.5%.

The largest share in Lithuania’s exports fell within the categories of chemicals and chemical products (15% of total exports), food products (9%) and refined petroleum products (9%).

In 2021, Lithuanian imports accounted for EUR 37.8 billion and, as compared to 2020, increased by 29.6%.

The largest share in Lithuania’s imports fell within the categories of chemicals and chemical products (12% of total imports), crude petroleum and natural gas (11%) and machinery (8%).

FDI: In 2021, the FDI in Lithuania amounted to EUR 25.89 billion, a year-on-year increase of 8%.

Lithuania’s DI abroad: In 2021, the largest Lithuanian investment flows were directed to the US, Latvia, Estonia, and Cyprus. Lithuania’s cumulative DI abroad increased by 11% over the year and amounted to EUR 9.54 billion on 31 December 2021.

Tourism

In 2021, Lithuanian accommodation services have welcomed 0.51 million tourists from foreign countries. The amount decreased by 1.2%, as compared to 2020.
